Environment & Technology

In the Western and industrialized part of the world humans live longer and more healthily than ever before. Industrialization, and the subsequent increase in wealth, that the market based division of labor has secured, has ensured that more people than ever can be fed all over the world.

The technological revolution has not only led to higher living standards, they have also created a more pleasant environment for people, when comparing to the dawn of the industrialization.

When considering this it seems paradoxical that environmental policy is such an important part of the public policy debate – yet it is.

From Copenhagen Institutes side we aim to partake in a free and qualified environmental policy debate when it comes to potential scare scenarios that can be drummed up, when it comes to questions such as globalization, industrialization of third world countries, or the invention of new technologies.
